Sounds plausible - With my heat gun over panels of strips, I was never able to get the glue joints to budge - Perhpas just as well . . . But darned if the heat gun couldn't easily get the wood to assume a new shape - if the wood was held in its new shape while it cooled. I was thinking of making an exotic wood strip spiral just for show - - Still might!
