Hi mick,
How I'm doing it is hard to describe, some areas I started with the outline of the flame and in other areas I stripped the area out, cut and then filled in the flame. The boat is mostly western red cedar with pine flames and ash/dark western red cedar outlines. I've done a lot of steam bending and had to redo several pieces that broke. I plan to add some paduk flames in the bow and behind the cockpit, as well as do the cockpit recess in paduk. I was hoping to bring it to the rendezvous but looking back at my log for the last two boats, I'll never make it. Maybe I will just bring the deck for Mike to use for the creative stripping demo at the rendezvous.
