In order to solve the problem of security hanging in a car-port, we drilled out the front and rear end-pours at 3/4" with a forstner bit. This handily fits a Kryptonite u-lock. In the car-port, we hand one end by the carry loop and the other end by the u-lock through a pair of hardened steel eye-bolts which are screwed into the rafter. In order to remove it, they'd have to cut off the end-pour or cut a hunk out of the rafter.

On the roof rack, we plan to use the cable lock through the cheek plate.
