Hi Todd,

I agree that carbon/glass shafts and S-glass are differences. But I think I got the weights and prices right.

It seems that Lightning now has a new version called "Lightweight Fiberglass" that weighs 28 ozs for the Standard model (vs. 33 oz for the "Expedition Fiberglass"). I think most of the weight savings comes from a thinner shaft. The Whetstone webpage lists the weight for a 220 cm one-piece T1 at 28 ozs (maybe your value of 25 ozs is for a shorter paddle?).

Check out QCC kayaks for Lightning Paddle descriptions and prices (www.qcckayaks.com).
