In Response To: backband attachments (Tom Preska)

: Has any one had trouble keeping back band attachments laminated to the deck?
: Mine aren't staying put. I am using double thickness 1/4 ply
: bonded/filleted on the back side with glass, to the underside of the deck.
: Under the stress of the backband (nicks) design they are coming off after
: about two paddles. Help. Oh yeah they are on my exped. single.

Are these the ones to keep the backband off the seat or the ones to pull it forward? meaning the ones that are failing are mounted to the side of the boat or the ones behind you?

My previous post was for the ones behind you. For the ones to the side of you I am using 3" by 1" by 3/4" purpleheart and then screwing the webbing strap directly to it same as I did on my CLC boat with a brass washer and screw.
