I just flipped my freshly glassed striped hull, what a benchmark. First boat, what a great project. All things considered, everything is going pretty well.
I had plugged holes I made to attach the hull starter strip to the forms prior to glassing. In order to keep the hull tight against the forms I hot glued all the forms to the inside of the hull. Well it's been hot lately and when I flipped it over to start stripping the deck, I noted that the center 2/3rds of the forms are pulled back from the hull. The hot glue softened enough with the heat that there is a max about 3/4" gap at the cockpit, tapering to both ends half a dozen forms each direction. The hull is still flexible and I can push it back against the forms.
My question is, does anyone have any ideas, other than more brads or screws through the shearstrip to get the hull tight against the forms? I'm going stapleless and am trying to keep holes to an absolute minimum.
