In Response To: How to sharpen a wood chisel (Robert Palmeter)

Hi Robert;

I have never purchased a tool that was sharp as received from the mfr. You have to learn to sharpen tools, otherwise you will be throwing away lots of chisels, planes, knives etc. If Hank weren't so busy, I'm sure he'd have a dissertation in response to your query! ;-)

My favorite technique is linked at the site below. It is cheap and produces very sharp cutting edges, necessary for safe use. You're most likely to be injured by a dull blade which you overpower and then slip. Get it sharp and it cuts quickly & safely.

Best Regards, Spidey
