Yes, I haul it on the foam pads with the existing spacing.

I use the cart almost every time I take the kayak out (unless the water is close enough to just put it in. It comes with 2 straps and most of the time I put the cart under the rear cockpit and tie one of the straps around the front of the coaming to the front rail of the cart, and tie the other strap around the rear of the coaming to the rear rail of the cart. I say most of the time because sometimes I'm too lazy to tie it down because the surface I'm going over isn't too rough and I don't have too far to go. I've never had it catch on anything and tip over. I could probably go without the straps completely as it has never seemed to want to tip, but I'm too chicken to try it all the time.

They also make a rail kit for wider boats and I suppose you could make something similar but longer. I haven't seen the need for it though. If you decide to buy one, try it out before buying the rail kit. I bet you'll decide you don't need it. http://www.deluge.com/transport/railkit.htm http://www.deluge.com/transport/transport.htm

: Dale, I've always liked the looks of the Primex cart but, the contact area
: seemed too short to support a boat over rough stuff. I have heard of
: people carrying wood slats to lengthen the contact area for better
: support. Do you carry your triple on just the foam covered aluminum bars
: with the very narrow spacing between?
