Thanks for the info everyone. I haven't done any overnight trips an ocean kayak and didn't consider many of the things you brought up.

I have also never had to do a wet re-entry. Is a foot between the coaming and the aft hatch cover enough room when doing a re-entry or will I wish I had more room?

: 1) Ensure that your front hatch is large eniough to place a filled dsry bag
: through.

: 2) If you add a skeg, you can pack your tent on one side, the pole/pegs
: behind and a seeping pad on the other side.

: 3) Tie a cord to small items that are placed in the ends to retrieve them
