The room you need for wet reentry is enough for your paddle to be shoved under the deck bungies. so measure your paddle (& few others). (I assume you know how to use paddle float).

My rear "X in a rectangle" deck bungies occupy 10" of the kayak length.

They start about 8" behind the coaming because I needed space for the take-a-part, but you don't need that much.

just put it far enough for you to lean backward for eskimo roll. don't know the exact measures. look at pictures.

hey, about the good idea to tie thread to small items stored behind the skeg. I would like to add that the other side of that (these) thread should be tied to a fixed point somewhere easily accessible.

I go do it now.
