I had some correspondance with a gent who built the Mantinicus double ender in glued plywood lapstrake. He was pleased with the design. The duck trap designs have their roots in the working boats of a century or so ago. The lines, I believe, were taken from the older boats or from old half models. The Newfoundland Trap Skiff is a beautiful boat. I'd bet the guy whose boat is pictured on the web page is finished with his by now.....you might contact Mr. Simmons. He could put you in touch with someone who has built one. That ketch rigged Newfoundland with a deck on her........now that would be a site! good luck, garland
: Has anyone out there built a Duck Trap boat? If so, how do you like it? I'm
: thinking about building the Newfoundland Trap Skiff. It looks pretty cool.
: DJ Gaker ps I think the site is www.duck-trap.com but Im not sure
