I'm familiar with C-flex. Good material for solid laminate hulls, at least big boats. Solid laminate kayaks are typically 50-70 lbs. and I would just guess C-flex would not improve that a whole lot.

I've been looking into Nida-Core. Light, plastic honeycomb. A real quick calculation suggests kayak-like laminates in the 5-6 oz per sq.ft. Humm....
