True. I am doing this on my scarf joints. I may have to resort to these alternatives as things progress. As Roger pointed out, the Wood really needs to be torqued around. Putz wasn't joking when he gave a picture demonstrating this with a pair of vise grips! I have doubts about how well my "clamping" will work on the end forms. But, I'll see how far I can go :-)
