: I suspect that the sizing has brought about the green color, but I don't
: think affects the final outcome. When you take nice, white cloth and wet
: it out with epoxy *on a white background*, it turns a bit green also. It
: is not especially noticeable on wood, but very noticeable with multiple
: layers on a removeable layup or on a white background.

Well not always and that's kind of the reason I brought it up. I put just one layer of the first cloth on one half of the inside of the hull and put the second cloth on the other half. I could see a difference in the 2 cloths. I added a second layer of cloth #2 to the entire hull and none of it became any more green. The half that has 2 layers of the 2nd cloth is very clear whereas other locations that have just one layer of the 1st cloth are green.

I have piles of scraps and I can tell by looking as to whether the cloth is from the first or second batch. The cloth of the first batch has a green tint itself whereas the second batch is very white.

My guess is that you got some green tint cloth also.

: I noticed this first when building up my coaming. It you look at the pictures
: on my web site, you'll see a definite green tinge as I added layers to the
: coaming (Over masking tape). When the coaming came off, it became even
: more pronounced as seen in the pix. That was the reason I white pigmented
: the hatch lip layups - Eliminate the green from the get-go in thicker
: layups.

: In a sentence, if it isn't a bit green from the sizing, it will be when you
: wet it out. Parity in an otherwise bemused world . . . ;-)

I believe it's the finish and not the sizing. The reason I say this is because 1 layer of 6 oz of the first cloth was green, whereas 2 layers of 6 oz of the second cloth was still very clear.

I believe I could lay up a bunch of layers of the second cloth and still have it be clear. Looks like I have an experiment to do, huh?
