Just a thought on the deckplate idea, Bruce. I have that setup on my North Bay, and it works pretty well. But deckplates --- if you have no hatches --- need to be reasonably accessable. Using the after plate isn't usually a problem, but the forward plate might be hard to reach if your bulkhead is as far forward as many designs call out. I rebuilt my North Bay's forward bulkhead to allow me to mount a footpump on it and to use it as the basis for a footrest. What I didn't think about --- since I had no intention of carrying anything in the forward compartment --- was that it is still nice to be able to reach up through the deckplate rim and mop up any condensation --- or bilge, should you practice reentry-and-rolls and you forgot to tighten the deckplate --- that has accumulated forward.
That 5200 is pretty nasty goo, but it would probably seal and hold a deckplate rim reasonably well. And the minicell should handle the torque, I would think. Just think about access and location.
