: First can i thank whoever replied to my last message, which i posted a few
: days ago. You really were all a GREAT help, and your points are very
: useful to my project. I am now planning to design a trailer/attachment for
: one kayak to be towed behind a bycicle. This could then have a double
: purpose as a cart, to help pull the kayak to the water edge by hand. Has
: anybody got any ideas on this one?? Do you think there are any problems in
: particular that i must acknowledge and try to overcome. Any design ideas
: on how it could be done?? Also i need to find some technical information
: on the dimentions of kayaks, the dancers in particular, as they are the
: ones we have at school. It would be most appropriate to make my design fit
: them. Have you any idea where i could collect this data????? Please
: help.... :0) Many thanks in advance, Benita Kingsbury.

Benita,

Several months ago while I was asking for information on painting my kayak, one gentleman mailed me a photo of a kayak he had built, and it was attached to a trailer that he had built. It was towed behind his bicyle! I include his email address here, as it was included on the BBS post in which he replied to my question on painting.(I would not provide someone's email address normally without previously asking, but if I provided a link to his post you would have it anyway). He was quite helpful, and I am sure he would answer any questions you may have. It was a pretty neat looking trailer.I think he used mostly a light Spruce, if I remember...

I am not sure of which kayak you are referring to when you say 'Dancer'.If it is the Perception Dancer, then the dimensions are: length 348cm, width 61 cm, cockpit 86x48, weight 18.1 kg for the Dancer Proline and Dancer Class V. The Dancer XS is a bit smaller-ask if you want that info. This is according to the 1998 catalogue I have.

Good luck,

kelly
