In Response To: Gluing wet or steamed wood (Steve)
Hi Steve, When I steam bend ash for my paddles I bend it and let it cool and dry before I glue. I would not even consider using epoxy on wet wood. I did a fair amount of strips on the deck of my flame boat by putting the glue on freshly steam bent wood but the strength is in the fiberglass inside and out so I was not concerned about the joints as long as they held until the fiberglassing stage. I would avoid use of glue or epoxy on wet wood if possible.
