I built a very heavy external strongback (almost a bench). Being overly concerned about stiffness and straightness I attached it to sawhorses with drywall screws and leveled it by placing blocks of appropriate size under and against the legs of the sawhorses. To keep it in place, I hot-glued the blocks to the concrete floor of the garage. The bench is very strong and provides a good place to accumulate tools and supplies. The biggest downside is that it is immobile and it is 16' long in a 20'long garage which leaves little room to get around it.

When you put a strongback on wheels, how do you adjust for irregularities in the height of the floor beneath it?
