Mike,

Does it look like the kayak in the picture below? It is from some old Dutch plans, for more pics and info, follow the link below.

If it doesn't look like that, could you describe it a little more?

Mike Hanks

: Hello,

: I just brought home a kayak from my mothers attic, that has been there since
: the house was built in 1951. I was told that the kayak was built in 1931
: by my grandfather, but I do not know how accurate the info is. It is about
: 10-12 feet long, and is canvas covered of a red color. It has a wood
: frame. It is pretty streamlined. The beam is about30" wide, but I
: have not measured it to be sure. I do not know if this qualifies as a
: kayak, since the top of it is open, almost like a canoe, but the back edge
: of the opening is straight not "V" shaped like the front. Not a
: good description, but I hope you understand. I am just trying to find out
: how popular these were, and if they are of any value. I have it hanging in
: my back room and do not want to sell, but I would like some info on it.
: Thanks for any and all information any of you can give me.

: Thanks, Mike Kise
