Well, first, building a S&G boat from a kit involves no appreciable woodworking skills outside of a few minutes with a block plane, and knowing which side of the sandpaper to use. The rest is simply following instructions and not being afraid to ask questions. Building from plans involves the additional ability to use a sabre saw, as well as the ability to transfer plans to plywood. The only thing that would make the Osprey Triple any more difficult than a smaller boat is that there is more of everything to do - the steps are the same though. So, you may just be twisting twice as many wires and spreading more epoxy and glass as a smaller boat. I have built a Pygmy Coho from kit, and am considering the Osprey Triple myself sometime soon.
