I've been away for a bit, but returned tonite, saw your post right off, and have to congratulate you for sticking to it! The rag indeed rules . . . Very glad it worked for you.

I took a position as Editor-in-Chief for a technical magazine a few months ago, decided the publisher sucked, and quit last week after only 2 issues. Since then I've taken up options trading (equities) at home, so the kayak has been languishing in the garage for a few months (sorry to say).

You might like to hear, however, that the info found at

is right on for varnished kayaks . . . I used the maguiars #1, 2, and 9 as described in the article on the front deck of my 'yak and it far exceeds furniture quality. A bit of overkill for a knock-a-round, but great for the ego. You have to see it to believe it, is all I can say.

We're getting into kayak weather here in Florida, so I've been dragging my feet until the daytime highs dropped into the mid 80's . . . I'm ready to rock & roll at this point!
