Hi again Derek - It's nice to be back! (at the expense of my day job . . . 8-)

I let my varnish sit for weeks mainly because I was too busy to get back to it. I'd definitely let it get good & hard, otherwise it might gum instead of buff . . . I wet sanded first, and a #600 finish seems to be taken care of by Maguiar's #1 pretty well. I don't really see the need for sanding any finer than that. The sanding step will also tell you if it's hard enough.

Good Luck! Spidey

: Hey Spidey good to hear from you again. Ya I'm excited about the results, I
: put another coat on last night, It just keeps getting better. My Canoe and
: Kayak are due for a refinish, so I'll be trying it on a larger scale
: starting this week end. How long do you let the varnish cure before
: buffing? A few weeks I would guess?

: Thanks

: Derek
