I've been thinking about that one too! My Idea was to make the loom and then cut a through slot on each end. Then slide the blade into the slot and taper the remaining portion of the loom feather into the blade and glue it up. The other idea was to make and end piece with the taper like my paddles and turn down the other end so it slips inside the loom. The thing is, by the time you have done all that I'm not sure what weight savings you would get. On the paddle posted I tied a piece of raw hide lace around it for a drip ring and it worked great. I'm however am very leary on it's strength. It flexes quite a bit and I'm afraid it will snap like a tooth pick.
