Chris,

I would recommend a slightly different meathod for a skin Outer Island than the Putz/Skene method of construction. You could take the forms and cut out the centers of them. Then attach stringers to the forms. Suddenly you have a completed kayak frame. Just skin it after that. This should be faster and easier than Putz/Skene construction.

Julio MacWilliams did this with the forms from the stitch & glue Guillemot. Check the link below for more information, and pictures. Also check with the designer (Jay) of the kayak before you use the forms for another kayak. You may be violating your license agreement.
