In Response To: Wet Sanding (Don Campbell)
: Can someone explain to me the process of "wet sanding"? What does
: wet sanding do that dry sanding doesn't? TIA Rookie Sander Don
Not much to add here, but Mr. Campbell should know I've got some 1500 grit wet and dry here for the real fanatic. I would note that wet sanding can be done with power tools to really speed the process. Generally, tools driven by an air compressor are preferred to eliminate the electocution hazard. The tool of choice is the "jitterbug," a 1/3 sheet orbital sander. These start at about $30 and are a common autobody tool. Anybody who's in the business who is sanding by hand isn't going to last.
