: Hi everyone,

: I used mohagony for my shear strip and it proved to be extremely helpful. I
: am building a Return and I didn't had to use a cheater strip since the
: shear strip allowed be to use clamps between the strip I am gluing and the
: shear strip in the bow and stern section. I can only recommend this
: approach to anyone. If I would have used western red cedar, it would have
: been pretty badly crushed by now. The mohagony strip was ~1/2".

Hi Andreas,
My Walnut shear strips worked out the same way. They take a lot of clamping and taping abuse.
