The boat winches are great...Ive got two. I bolt them to a 2x4 which is in turn lag bolted (on edge) to the studs of the wall. I couldn't just bolt the winch to the wall because then I couldnt turn the handle. With the winch mounted so that the handle sticks out from the wall it is easy to use.
