I was encouraged to begin a strip built boat after ordering/reading Nick Schade's book.I have been wanting to find a "wood project" for some time and since I paddle a Looksha IV, and varnish my sailaboat (a lot) I felt this was a great idea.I have not built a boat before but Nick's book gives one the confidence to tackle it. I have ordered Rob Mack's plans for the Shooting Star and was looking forward with a bit of concern about this project. I found this site and for a few days have monitored it and feel so much better about the support that is available here. Thank you all for a source of help. I plan to order a kit from one the suppliers. I am sure I will be back with many questions but wanted to express my ELATION for this source.
