In Response To: What is the "best" design for a strongback? (Andy Miller)
Ive used 2x4s successfully but now i use a beam made from two 1x4 fir decking planks. They tend to be very good quality vertical grain wood and are well dried. When glued together they seem tobe very stable and stay straight and twist free.
