Mike, I had no problem with dust in epoxy but, I dry sanded with random orbit 220 grit finest and wet sanded with same grit to get a better finish. This eliminated all dust that was visible on surface What I was saying about using tack rag on varnish only and not on epoxy was because the tack rag may effect bond of varnish over epoxy. I did not mean that dust free enviorment was for varnish only. I had a problem with pollen in the air and it made the finish look like 100 grit sand paper. YES I CAN TELL THE DIFFERENCE. A little dust is no problem. I was getting much more than a little, so what seams extreme was necessary for me to get a final good finish (#5) Wet sanding between coats of varnish removes the problem, till you recoat. The final coat needs the most preparation to eliminate dust.
