: Hello;
: I decided to build a greenland style paddle, based on Chuck Holst's design
: guidelines. It was a quick and rewarding project - - It looks rather
: functional, if a bit . . . uh . . . "stick-like" . . . at least
: compared to a Euro-style paddle (sorry greenland paddle esthetic
: afficionados . . . ).
: I used laminated cedar for the bulk of the paddle, with ash tips which were
: attached via tongue & groove, visible in this photo. You can see the
: construction at the link below, following the "Greenland Paddle"
: link.
: It really looks too skinny, but I believe the experienced posters here as to
: its performance - - Hey, at least enough to build one . . . ;-)
: Best Regards, Spidey
Does it make the boat go forward and backward? What other criteria is there to even consider? Just use it!!! If you decide it doesn't look or feel just right Spidey, pack it up and send it out to Calif. and I won't have to build one for my Walrus. I'll hold my breath till it arives.
