Hi David,

Are you referring to that blue, textured strapping that you see on boxes?

Interesting thought... Readily available, thin & strong. Easy to apply and tension [overlap, pull tight and glue to itself - probably would not need the tool]. Would only need a couple of pieces of masking tape to keep in position. Easy to release the hull from the forms - a minute with a knife would do it.

Being plastic, it might be a small problem to heat and remove from the hull afterward, the hot-melt glue would have to scraped off anyway.

Hummm... what other "ribbon like" materials are available that might be suitable?

I am off to the shipping department to see what they have - hope to be able to comment on the adhesion later.
