- How many inches of tape do you get to a sharpening?
I don't know, like many others on this forum I agree that 9 times out of 10, problems with using a plane are the result of a dull plane. (the other 1 time is plane adjustment, but NEVER the operator) I keep the stone handy and sharpen whenever it seems to need it. Sometimes I sharpen it whether it needs it or not. Like sandpaper, saws, chisels, or anything else with an edge, time spent sharpening is more than saved in labor!
