Mike,

Even though the kayak has a lot of flat surfaces, it is 100% stripper. The hatches do go to bulkheaded areas. The front hatch is offset because the front deck is peaked. There are no pillars in the kayak, because the wood/epoxy/glass combination makes for a very stiff hull.
