I'm asssuming these things are going into some areas that are isolated by bulkheads, but if not, use some light nylon line and tie them in.

Somewhere. perhaps on this board, I saw an idea for putting a pulley in the bow and/or stern, with a light line looped through it. You could tie one end to your baggage and use the line to get it all the way into the far ends. A line tied to the other end of the baggage would help you retrieve it.

You could do something similar. Cast an eyebolt into your endpour and string a line through it. You can use this to pull your foam-filled float bags into place. Make someplace convenient to tie off the end of the line, and your flotation should stay in place.

By the way, with a system like this you can adjust the trim of your boat by moving the gear closer to the end that rides high. Pull out the flotaion at the ends, use the line and pulley (or eyebolt) to get the heavier gear way up there, and put the lighter flotation back in, closer to the center.

And, as I think of it, if you are using pant legs for your floatation you don't even need to sew them. Just use the light nylon line to tie the ends shut and leave enough excess for pulling the thing into place Paul Jacobson
