My husband hasn't killed me yet, although this is only the second boat, and the supervising cat is still alive. Seriously, the MAS epoxy doesn't smell - at least not noticeably upstairs when used in the basement. Captains Varnish smells dreadful though. Epoxy drips are bad, and a plastic drop cloth is a good idea. I got a few epoxy drips on the washing machine and dryer too last winter(my work bench, and yes, it was covered) but as I do the laundry no one is complaining. I used an extra heater in the basement to prewarm the boat and then switched it off for curing in an effort to avoid gassing out. It seemed to work well.
