Get some other type of wood. There is a section in Nick's book about wood selection, and from what I got out of it, you can use almost any wood, but some are easier. Try redwood or Douglas Fir. The spruce goose had very little spruce in it. I don't remember what was used, bu doug fir or spruce or birch should work.

Otherwise, order the wood, and get ahead on other things that you would otherwise have to do as an interruption to building. Clean and organize your shop, etc. I haven't had time to change my oil for a year, and I haven't even started a boat yet!

Or you could read Nick's book while you wait... or do some test panels to determine which glues work well for a short wet period... or you could chnge the oil in my truck... or zebra stripe it... or...
