hi Scott, after seeing some marginally installed recessed fittings in a friends glass P&H Sirius I'm guessing most of us are building pretty sturdy kayaks. On a prototype I used t-nuts glued in with (4) 2" strips of 11oz. unidirectional carbon tape with the t-nut protruding through the three arrayed strips and one strip between nut and hull. The prongs were cut off. This was for a boat where I wanted all the room I could get.
