Hi Mark,

With all due respect, you are barking up the wrong tree looking for a cheap gun to spray LP. Having had personal experiance with LOTS of different guns over 20+ years of spraying LP, I wouldn't use anything but the most expensive gun DeVilbiss offers. It's money well spent.

LP requires a large volume of paint applied quickly, and it must be well atomized. LP is not thinned to achieve spraying consistency, so it is relatively viscous when sprayed. Cheap guns usually don't have large enough orifices to put down sufficient material. If they can't put down sufficient material, orange peel will develop. If they do have a large paint orifice, the air passages in cheap guns are so poorly designed or manufactured that the LP won't atomize properly. Can you spell "blobs and runs"? And, you haven't lived until you have almost finished your final coat on your beautiful boat, only to have the el-cheapo gun leak and drip all over your boat. Been there, done that. You could have had an el-cheapo gun for free, if you were at my place when THAT happened! As it was, the trash man got it.

Regards,

Pete
