When I entered patternmaking as a young man I worried about working in epoxies for a life time and what the effects might be, in conditions that varried from safe to poor. I worked with and knew nearly a hundred Pat.Mks. during that time. Half of them were old timers to me and all lived out natural lives into retirement with the exception of one that died in a car crash. My group are in their sixties now and none have died from cancer or heart desease, and I know a group of younger ones that are healthy. I have known of two that were sensitised to epoxy and had to get out of that part of the trade, but they were sloppy and didn't clean up properly. Only one died of cancer when he was about 80. What I did notice was the many cancer deaths of middle age people in the engineering dept. next to us. I couldn't figure this out except their area smelled of ammonia because of the many blueprints they made off of their drawing.
