Hi, Ross -

I also used the Swiffer, and found it did leave tiny filaments when used over sanded cedar prior to glassing. I used it after sanding old varnish and vacuuming, and it took off a perceptible amount of varnish dust. No filaments here, likely because of the smooth surface relative to sanded raw wood. FWIW.
