: Hi John

: Don't quote me on this..... but I think there is a two-fold purpose for the
: end pours. 1) To aid in the strength of the tip of the bow. 2) To give you
: a silid place to drill through for your little handle/rope. I don't think
: it has to be solid epoxy, but rather just a solid mixture of fillers and
: epoxy. I've read of those who do it with their boats in the standing
: position and also those who do the "dam and pour" in the hull
: before piecing it together. I don't see that it makes much difference in
: either case, but I would think you'd want to keep it as light as possible
: and keep it in the tip where you will need to drill the hole only. Any
: more would be just unwanted weight.

Hi Rehd,

I seem to do everything backwards. I put my handle rope holds in without the solid end pores and so I do have to besure I get it backed up with epoxy pore paste or something. I am quite worried about getting the haul an deck to match. You have given me something else to think about now. If I put the chopped fiberglass fillet in as I was thinking, I will put the haul and deck back together while the fillets set up so as to help the boat keep its proper alighment and shape. And I do need to watch the size and weight of the fillets also. It's all a little scary the first time but fun. Thanks.

John
