: basement work area is pretty well coated with epoxy by now...dialing out
: is problematic, since the "3" is now sealed tight. My friends
: routinely ask if "I'm in the middle of something" if they hear
: the radio in the background, and graciously call back later. If it's a
: non-distraught sounding parishioner, I quickly explain that I've just
: mixed up epoxy and ask if I can call back in about 10 minutes... and if
: it's someone I don't especially want to talk with (like the
: manic-depressive woman who was calling me repeatedly--- at home, at night,
: on my day off, early in the morning, etc.) I say I can't talk and suggest
: that the person call me in my office during working hours. If it's a phone
: solicter, I just hang up.

: I use the alternate "pump resin then hardener" method... If the
: phone were to ring while I was actually dispensing, I'd take a moment to
: make the squirts "even" -- *before* answering.... better to work
: with a smaller batch (and then mix up more) than to work with an imbalance
: between resin and hardener!

: And-- when in doubt, I'd throw it out!

Nice to know there are so many fine people out there that also can't just let the phone ring when in a critical stage. I have warned other householders when I start the glassing process to pick up the phone when it rings, but last time, I was expecting a potentially important call, there was no one about. I wrapped the portable phone in saran wrap and commenced glassing. I did get a short call, but was able to continue without loosing count, as I warned the person on the other end of the critical nature of my task.
