: The Elmer's won't cause you any grief. The T2 is water resistant, but not
: waterproof, so the method will work. If you cover the hull with rags and
: soak the rags for an hour or so, the glue will soften and the joints will
: shift enough to true things up for you. As Julie might say, "go forth
: and sin no more, my son.

The Elmers EXTERIOR is waterproof and used for outdoor projects. I bought some and ask on this board if anyone had ever used it and I never got an answer. It is a tan color and was much harder to squeeze out of the bottle then Elmers yellow carpenders glue so I went with the yellow glue. I went stapless and used hot glue but when I had a really tough strip that wouldn't stay where is was suppose to I used a 1 1/2" ringed pole barn nail with a rubber gromet already on them. The rubber keeps the wood from being marred and the head well up in the air so it can be pulled out later with plyers. It does leave a 1/8" hole that must be filled later on, and you must pre-drill to keep from splitting you strips. These nails are used to hold the metal siding on the barns.
