: I'm adding thigh brace keyhole type wings to the cockpit of my Coho. I have
: to remove old contact cement on the underside of my deck where I had
: Minicel glued on with contact cement, so I can glass the wings on. Does
: anyone have a good & quick method of removing the old contact cement?
: I have tried scraping and acetone. The scraping just rolls the cement
: around and the acetone takes forever. Has anyone ever tried any automotive
: products like Goof-off? I don't want to degrade the epoxy.
: Thanks,
: Larry C.
Larry - As a last resort, try toluene or xylene. Both are solvents for contact cement, but are nasty stuff - flammable, poison, toxic, and probably causes cancer in rats when they are fed the stuff. - John
