: Please, don't use my name in vain.

: Phil Green stopped by this board one day to explain how he varnished. This is
: how he gets treated when he is not here.

: I suspect that the $25k ($28/hr) he gets for his boats dwarfs what any of you
: get. That makes you feel how?

You're right George, it definitely makes me feel like I didn't gouge some poor simpleton out of his life savings. Not everyone is out to get the highest value out of his/her creation. Some of us build things for fun, entertainment and if we get enough out of it in the end to build another, we are happy. And we've made someone else, that may not have been able to buy one, a very happy person as well. What is the point of building something beautiful,A Boat, and hanging it on the wall to be only looked at. Then it's not really a boat, is it? It's just a decoration. A waste of all that time and $28 an hour. I would just as soon build something that someone will actually Use and not be scared to death for someone to touch. That's what makes me proud.

I have built complete kitchens for folks for no more than the price of materials and a couple of lunches. Only because they really needed it. That gave me more pleasure than any $25K boat you could ever build. It actually did someone some REAL good. Not everything or everyone's lives revolve around the ole Mighty $$$$$$$.

And I agree that folks shouldn't use your name in vain. Not Kool!!

Hope this helps!! Oh, and thanks for Asking!
