While it's not free, another option to consider is Chris Kulyseki's (sp?) newest book which includes not only construction instructions, but plans for two or three stitch and glue kayaks. While the stitch and glue kayaks are not as beautiful as some of the "art work" you see from some of the builders in this forum, they are a quick build and a relatively easy way for a beginner to get into boat building. You also get a quality boat which has the size and stability which would be an easy transition from the Loon you've been paddling...
