I used that polyurethane glue on all the longitudinal strips on the deck of the boat. The chevron pattern is inlay. After stripping the entire deck, I cut-out the path of the inlay and then used regular wood glue for the chevrons (so much easier than poly glue). Here's a photo of it under construction.
