I wouldn't hesitate to fish or take a nice camera provided I have a dry bag handy for the camera. The stability shouldn't be an issue, initial and secondary is plenty good enough for my wife and I. I do have a friend though who wears his weight mostly in the upper body and he thought it was a little tippy, but this was his first kayaking experience and I think he would think any kayak was a little tippy. Weight distribution makes a big difference in any kayak.

I haven't rolled it yet but I believe it will not be a problem. I have rolled others and am waiting for the water to warm up.

I built mine with 7/32 inch thick strips and believe the finished thickness ranges 3/16 to 7/32. I figured an expedition kayak should be made stronger for it's intended purpose and was willing to have it a bit heavier. Why save the weight of a pair of shoes and a pair of pants and have a hull you feel is of boarderline strength? I'm not saying a 1/8" thick hull is boarderline if reiforced properly but you might find the added weight of the added reinforcements needed, to get the desired strength, to weigh in about the same or more than a comparable layup using 1/4" strips and lighter weight fabrics. Kevlar roving is expensive and sucks up the resin like a sponge.

Nick has done alot of work in this area, I would suggest studying his results.
