You should be able to patch the leak with (wood flour) thickened epoxy. It will help if you can give more detail on it's construction: Do you think it has a layer of fiberglass on it, is fiberglass peeling-up anywhere? At the very least you will want to sand it and apply several layers of marine varnish. Post some pictures.
